Care and Use

Fill the Sport Berkey® Portable Water Purifier with water, screw on cap and tighten securely to eliminate leaks. Flush water through filter by pulling down lever, so that straw is exposed, and squeeze water through filter & out the straw. Repeat this flushing process twice before drinking. This removes excess process dust from the filter. After 2 flushes, rinse the bottle & cap. Your filter bottle is now ready for use. Enjoy!

Maintenance and Storage

The Sport Berkey® Portable Water Purifier has a shelf life of 50 years. When the filter system will not be used for an extended period, flush the unit with a chlorinated solution of 1/4 tsp. per one half gallon of water. Allow to dry thoroughly with cap removed. Re-assemble and stow. Do not allow filter to freeze, do not place in microwave oven and do not run hot water through the filter.

Note: All contaminants that this filter has the ability to remove or reduce may not necessarily be in the user’s water supply

The all new Go Berkey® Kit is the designed for backpacking, hiking, camping, college students, world travel (business or vacation), on your desk at work or hundreds of other activities. The generic Sport Berkey® portable water purifier bottle is perfect for when you are out on the trail and the Go Berkey® system works great for passive purification back at the campsite, lodge, etc. The Generic Sport Berkey® portable water purifier bottle can also be used to prime the Black Berkey® Purification Element when water pressure isn’t available.

As with all our water purification systems, the Go Berkey® Kit is a must during unexpected emergencies.

Constructed of highly polished AISI 304 stainless steel the Go Berkey® Kit comes complete with one Black Berkey® Purification Element, one generic Sport Berkey® portable water purifier bottle and a vinyl carry case This system has a storage capacity of about 1 quart (.95 liters) and when in use it stands 14” in height with a diameter of 4”. The upper chamber nests within the lower chamber for transport and stands only 10” in height. Weighing a mere 2.4 pounds the Go Berkey® Kit is lightweight, easily transportable and perfect for active people on the go.

The Berkey Light™ system does not leach foul tasting plasticizers into your water and will not retain foul tastes and odors from waterborne contaminants. As the system purifies water, it produces the delightful and relaxing sound of falling raindrops.

When used with the Berkey Light™ LED Base, these water droplets light up and glow and the resulting waves reflect soothing patterns of light onto the surrounding area. The lighting effects coupled with the melody of raindrops, combine to create a unique and relaxing atmosphere.
